About Dynamic Leather

What is Dynamic Leather?

Dynamic Leather is an American online retailer of genuine leather motorcycle apparel — including motorcycle leather vests, leather jackets, leather chaps, boots, helmets, and riding accessories for men, women, and kids. Because we sell direct from the manufacturer to the buyer, our biker vests and jackets typically cost a fraction of what identical gear sells for in retail stores. We've been outfitting riders since 1998 and have served over one million customers.

Is Dynamic Leather a trustworthy place to buy motorcycle gear?

Yes. Dynamic Leather has been in the motorcycle apparel business since 1998, with more than one million customers served. Every order is backed by:

  • A 30-day return and exchange policy on unworn items
  • A lowest price guarantee (we'll match a competitor's price on the same product)
  • Secure checkout powered by Shopify
  • Live customer support by phone and email

Where is Dynamic Leather located?

Dynamic Leather is based in Covington, Georgia, USA (6391 Avery Street SW, Covington, GA 30014). All orders ship from within the United States, which is why most US customers receive their motorcycle riding gear within about a week of ordering.

Why are your prices lower than motorcycle shops and retail stores?

Because you're buying direct. We negotiate and purchase in bulk, cutting out the middleman markup, so our gear typically runs 50–70% below retail — the same genuine leather jackets that sell for $199–$399 in retail stores are typically $79–$199 on our site. You get the same leather quality without paying for a storefront's overhead.

Ordering

How do I place an order?

The fastest way to order is directly on DynamicLeather.com — add your motorcycle vest, jacket, or chaps to the cart and check out securely. Prefer to talk to a person first? You can also place orders by phone at +1 770 483 1060 or by fax at +1 888 797 8690.

How do I check the status of my order?

You'll receive an email confirmation as soon as your order is placed, followed by a shipping email with a tracking link once it leaves our warehouse. If anything holds up your order — such as a billing address that needs verification — we'll email you right away. Check your spam folder if you don't see our emails, and contact customer support any time for an update.

Can I cancel my order?

Yes, free of charge — as long as it hasn't shipped. Contact us as soon as possible at +1 770 483 1060, because most orders ship the same business day. Orders cannot be cancelled once they've shipped; at that point, you can use our 30-day return policy instead.

Can I change or modify my order after placing it?

Often yes, if you reach us before the order ships — and most orders ship the same business day, so call quickly. Phone is faster than email for order changes: +1 770 483 1060. If your order has already shipped, we can help you set up an exchange for the size or style you need.

Why is my order delayed or on hold?

The most common reason is a billing-address mismatch. If the billing information you entered doesn't match what your credit card company has on file, our fraud-prevention team pauses the order and emails you to verify it. Reply promptly — if we don't hear back within 5 business days, the order is cancelled for your protection. This process protects you against unauthorized use of your card.

Sizing & Fit

How do I find the right size for a motorcycle vest or jacket?

Start with the size chart on the product page — sizing can vary between styles, so always check the chart for the specific item rather than assuming your usual size. Measure your chest and compare it to the chart. If you're still unsure, call us with your measurements at +1 770 483 1060 and we'll recommend a size.

How do I measure myself for a leather vest or jacket?

Use a soft measuring tape and measure over a t-shirt:

  • Chest: around the fullest part of your chest, under your arms, keeping the tape level.
  • Waist: around your natural waistline.
  • Sleeve (jackets only): from the shoulder seam to your wrist with your arm slightly bent.

For a motorcycle vest, chest and waist are usually all you need. Compare your numbers to the product's size chart — not to another brand's sizing.

How do I measure for leather chaps?

Three measurements determine chap fit: your waist (where you'll buckle the belt), your thigh at its widest point, and your inseam or overall length. Leather chaps are designed to be hemmed, so extra length at the bottom is normal — a local tailor or shoe repair shop can trim them to your boot height.

What if I'm between two sizes?

For motorcycle vests, go with the larger size if you'll wear the vest over a jacket, hoodie, or layers — which most riders do — and the smaller size if you want a snug fit over a t-shirt. For jackets, size up if you plan to layer underneath in cold weather. Side lace vests give you extra flexibility here, because the laces let you adjust the fit several inches either way.

How should a motorcycle vest fit?

A motorcycle leather vest should sit close to your body without pinching at the shoulders or gapping at the chest, and it should be long enough to cover your waistband when you're seated on the bike. You should be able to snap or zip it closed comfortably over whatever you normally ride in. Remember that genuine leather relaxes slightly with wear, so "comfortably snug" on day one usually becomes a perfect fit.

Do leather motorcycle vests stretch over time?

Yes — slightly. Genuine leather molds to your body with wear, typically relaxing about half a size in the areas that flex most. It won't stretch dramatically, so don't buy a vest that's genuinely too tight expecting it to grow. Side lace and side-stretch vests are the best choice if your weight fluctuates, since they adjust on demand.

Do you carry big & tall sizes?

Yes. We stock a dedicated Big & Tall vest collection for men, tall-length leather chaps, and extended sizes across many jacket and vest styles. We also sell vest extenders — small leather or metal links that add room to any snap-front vest without replacing it.

Leather Quality

Is your motorcycle apparel genuine leather?

Yes. Our leather motorcycle vests, jackets, and chaps are made from genuine leather — primarily cowhide, buffalo, and lambskin depending on the style. Each product page lists the leather type used. We also carry clearly labeled denim and textile alternatives for riders who prefer them.

How do I know if my vest is genuine leather?

Genuine leather has a natural grain with slight variation (no perfectly repeating pattern), a distinct leathery smell, and edges that look fibrous rather than smooth like plastic. It also warms quickly to the touch, while synthetics stay cool and feel uniform. Every Dynamic Leather product description states exactly what the item is made of, so you know before you buy.

Which leather is best for motorcycle riding?

Cowhide and buffalo leather are the best choices for motorcycle riding gear because they offer the highest abrasion resistance for their weight:

  • Cowhide — the industry standard: tough, durable, and breaks in to a comfortable fit.
  • Buffalo leather — similar strength with a more pronounced grain, often at a great price.
  • Lambskin — softer and lighter; ideal for fashion-oriented vests and women's styles where comfort and drape matter most.

For dedicated riding protection, choose a cowhide or buffalo piece; for around-town and rally wear, lambskin is a comfortable option.

What is naked cowhide leather?

Naked cowhide is leather that has been dyed but left free of heavy surface coatings or embossing, so you see and feel the hide's natural grain. It's prized in motorcycle apparel because it's supple straight out of the box, breaks in beautifully, and develops a rich patina over years of riding.

What is milled leather?

Milled leather has been tumbled in large drums during finishing, which softens the hide and raises its natural pebbled grain. The result is leather that feels broken-in from day one and resists showing scuffs — a popular choice for motorcycle vests and jackets you want to wear comfortably right away.

Which leather thickness is best for motorcycle gear?

For riding apparel, look for leather in the 1.0–1.4 mm range. Around 1.0–1.2 mm gives the best balance of protection and comfort for vests and jackets, while heavier hides toward 1.2–1.4 mm maximize durability for hard daily riding. Fashion garments often use thinner leather that looks similar but offers far less abrasion resistance — one reason purpose-built motorcycle leather is worth it.

What's the difference between motorcycle leather and fashion leather?

Motorcycle leather is thicker, uses stronger stitching at stress points, and is constructed to resist abrasion in a slide. Fashion leather prioritizes light weight and drape over protection. Both can look similar on a hanger — the difference shows in the hide weight, seam construction, and how the garment holds up on the road.

Motorcycle Vests

What styles of motorcycle vests do you sell?

We carry one of the largest motorcycle vest selections online — over 700 styles — including classic snap-front biker vests, club style vests with single panel backs, side lace vests, "bulletproof style" (SWAT/tactical style) vests, side-stretch vests, denim and textile vests, big & tall vests, and women's and kids' vests. Popular finishes include plain, braided, studded, fringe, and rhinestone bling.

What is a club style vest?

A club style vest is a motorcycle vest built for wearing patches: it has a clean single panel back (no center seam splitting your back patch), a snap or zip front, and a straight, no-frills cut. If you ride with a motorcycle club or plan to display colors, a club style vest with a one-piece back is what you want.

What is a side lace vest and why choose one?

A side lace vest has leather lacing running up both sides instead of solid seams, letting you loosen or tighten the fit by several inches. Riders choose side lace vests because they adjust easily over different layers, accommodate weight changes, and add a classic biker look. They're one of our best-selling vest styles for both men and women.

Are "bulletproof style" vests actually bulletproof?

No — and this matters. "Bulletproof style" (also called SWAT style or tactical style) refers only to the look: a zippered tactical cut inspired by body armor. These are fashion and riding vests made of leather or textile, and they contain no ballistic material and provide no ballistic protection whatsoever. They're popular with riders and clubs purely for the style.

How do I break in a new leather vest?

Just wear it — that's genuinely the best method. Wear your vest for short stretches around the house and on early rides, and the leather will soften and shape to your body within a few weeks. You can speed things up slightly by applying a light coat of leather conditioner. Avoid shortcuts like soaking the leather or heating it, which can dry out and damage the hide.

Leather Jackets

What types of motorcycle leather jackets do you offer?

We stock men's, women's, and kids' motorcycle leather jackets in classic cruiser, racer, and touring styles, plus leather shirts and textile riding jackets. Many styles include features riders ask for most: zip-out liners for cold weather, ventilation zippers, gun pockets, and heavy-duty hardware.

How should a motorcycle jacket fit?

A motorcycle jacket should be snug through the body without restricting your arms, with sleeves that still cover your wrists when you reach forward to the handlebars and a back long enough to cover your waistband in the riding position. If you ride in cold climates, size to accommodate a sweatshirt or thermal layer underneath.

Are leather jackets warm enough for cold-weather riding?

Leather is naturally wind-resistant, which makes a big difference at highway speed, and jackets with zip-out insulated liners handle most three-season riding. For genuinely cold rides, layer a hoodie or thermal under a roomy-fitting jacket, add leather chaps to block wind on your legs, and consider our rain suits as an outer wind layer.

Leather Chaps

Why do motorcycle riders wear leather chaps?

Leather chaps protect your legs from wind, cold, road debris, and abrasion while letting you wear normal pants underneath. They zip on over jeans in seconds, block windchill that jeans alone can't, and come off just as fast when you arrive. For cruiser riders, chaps are the simplest leg protection you can add.

How should motorcycle chaps fit?

Chaps should fit snugly at the waist and comfortably around the thigh over the pants you ride in, with enough length to reach the top of your boot heel while seated on the bike. Extra length when standing is normal and correct — chaps are cut long on purpose and are meant to be hemmed.

Can leather chaps be shortened or altered?

Yes. Leather chaps are designed to be hemmed to your height, and any local tailor, leather shop, or shoe repair shop can shorten them easily. Adjustable lacing and buckles on most of our chaps also let you fine-tune the waist and thigh fit without alterations.

Do you sell tall chaps and leather pants?

Yes. We carry tall-length leather chaps for riders with longer inseams, plus full leather motorcycle pants, textile chaps, and kids' chaps. If you're between regular and tall, remember chaps can always be hemmed down — but they can't be lengthened.

Concealed Carry

Do your motorcycle vests have concealed carry pockets?

Yes. Many of our men's and women's leather motorcycle vests include built-in concealed carry (gun) pockets, and the product description states when a vest has them. If concealed carry is a must-have, look for "gun pocket" or "concealed carry" in the product title or details, or call us and we'll point you to the right styles.

Are the concealed carry pockets left- and right-handed?

Most of our concealed carry vests include a pocket on each interior side, so they work for both left- and right-handed carry. Check the specific product description for pocket placement, and size your vest with carrying in mind — a firearm adds a little bulk on one side.

What should I know before carrying in a concealed carry vest?

Carry laws vary by state and city, so make sure you hold the required permit and follow all local laws wherever you ride. We also recommend using a trigger-guard holster or pocket holster inside the vest pocket for safe retention. Our concealed carry vests are garments with dedicated pockets — responsible carry is always up to the owner.

Women's & Kids' Apparel

Do you sell women's motorcycle vests and jackets?

Yes — we have a full women's line, not an afterthought. It includes women's leather vests (side lace, side stretch, eyelet lace-up, fringe, and rhinestone bling styles), bulletproof-style vests in colors like hot pink, leather and textile jackets, chaps, boots, halter tops, rain suits, and matching leather bags.

Are women's motorcycle vests cut differently than men's?

Yes. Women's leather vests are cut with contoured seams, shorter body lengths, and proportioned shoulders for a proper feminine fit — they're not just downsized men's vests. Many women's styles add side lacing or stretch panels so you can dial in the fit exactly.

Do you sell motorcycle apparel for kids?

Yes. We carry kids' leather vests, chaps, jackets, and boots so the whole family can ride in matching gear. Kids' leather vests are especially popular for rallies, parades, and passenger riding — and they take patches just like the adult versions.

Patches & Club Apparel

Can I put patches on your leather vests?

Absolutely — our leather vests are made for patches. Genuine leather holds sewn patches securely for years, and our club style vests with single panel backs give you an uninterrupted canvas for a full back patch and rockers. Hand-sewing or machine-sewing through leather is straightforward for any patch shop.

Should patches be sewn or glued onto a leather vest?

Sewn, always. Iron-on adhesive doesn't bond reliably to leather and the heat can damage the hide. Have patches hand-stitched or machine-stitched by a local embroidery, upholstery, or leather shop — most charge a modest per-patch rate and the result lasts the life of the vest.

Which vests are best for motorcycle club patches?

Choose a vest with a single panel back — one solid piece of leather with no vertical center seam — so your club's back patch lies flat and uncut. Our club style and bulletproof-style vests are the most popular choices for MC members, and we stock them in men's, women's, big & tall, and kids' sizes for full-chapter orders.

Do you offer discounts for motorcycle clubs or group orders?

We regularly work with motorcycle clubs and chapters ordering matching vests in multiple sizes. Contact us at +1 770 483 1060 or info@dynamicleather.com with your club's style and quantity, and we'll help coordinate sizes and pricing for the group.

Shipping

How much does shipping cost?

We offer free shipping on US orders — take advantage of our complimentary free shipping offer at DynamicLeather.com. Free shipping does not apply to international orders, which are charged actual shipping cost. Any exceptions or expedited upgrade costs are shown clearly at checkout before you pay.

How long does shipping take?

Most orders ship the same business day, and standard UPS Ground delivery takes 3–5 business days after shipment for US addresses. Occasionally an order takes 2–3 days to ship. So in most cases, you'll have your motorcycle vest or jacket within about a week of ordering.

Do you offer expedited shipping?

Yes. Choose an expedited option at checkout if you need your gear fast. Most expedited orders still ship the same day; if yours can't, we'll contact you for approval before proceeding so there are no surprises.

How can I track my order?

You'll receive an email with a tracking link as soon as your order ships. Click the link any time to see where your package is. If you haven't received a shipping email within 3 business days, check your spam folder first, then contact customersupport@dynamicleather.com.

Do you ship to military APO/FPO addresses?

Yes — military orders are always welcome. APO/FPO shipments go out via USPS Priority Mail and require customs forms, so please allow about one additional business day of processing time. Thank you for your service.

What happens if my package is lost or arrives damaged?

Contact us right away and we'll make it right. For lost packages, we'll open a trace with the carrier and arrange a replacement or refund once it's confirmed. For items damaged in transit or missing parts, report it within one week of delivery and we'll resolve the issue at our expense.

International Shipping

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we ship motorcycle leather apparel worldwide via USPS Priority Mail. Please note that our free shipping offer applies to US orders only — international orders are charged actual shipping cost based on destination and package weight, and are charged in full before shipping. For an exact shipping quote, email your order details to info@dynamicleather.com before ordering.

Who pays customs duties and taxes on international orders?

The customer. Any customs duties, import taxes, or brokerage fees charged by your country are your responsibility and are collected by the carrier or your customs authority, not by Dynamic Leather. Check your country's import rules if you're unsure what to expect.

How long do international orders take?

International delivery via USPS Priority Mail varies by destination and customs processing. If any item in your order needs to arrive at our warehouse before we can ship the complete package, we'll hold the shipment briefly so everything arrives together — we'll keep you informed by email either way.

Returns & Exchanges

What is your return policy?

You have 30 days from the day your item is delivered to return it for a refund, exchange, or store credit — a "no quibble" policy, so buy with complete peace of mind. Items must be unused, unworn, and have all tags and tickets still attached. Refunds cover the product cost minus shipping; if your order shipped free, our actual outbound shipping cost is deducted from the refund. Shipping charges are non-refundable. The identical 30-day policy applies to purchases from our sister site, HighwayLeather.com.

How do I return an item?

Mail the item in new condition to:

Dynamic Leather — Returns
1014 Iris Dr SW
Conyers, GA 30094

Include a copy of your order confirmation email plus a short note — write "Return for refund" if you want your money back, or "Return for exchange" with the size or style you need instead. Making the package identifiable to your order is the single biggest thing that speeds up processing. HighwayLeather.com purchases use this exact same returns address and process.

How do exchanges work?

Send the item back unused and unworn with tags attached, with a note stating "Return for exchange" and the size or style you need, plus $12.00 by check or money order to cover the exchange shipping and handling. Once we receive your return, we'll ship the replacement out. If the exchange is due to our error, we handle everything at our expense.

Are any items non-returnable?

Yes, a few:

  • Closeout items — all closeout sales are final.
  • Worn, damaged, or soiled items — returns must be in new condition.
  • Items with non-original odors — for allergy and safety reasons, we can't accept returns that smell of smoke, pets, perfume, or anything else non-original.

When in doubt, keep the item unworn with tags on until you've confirmed the fit.

When will I get my refund?

Refunds are issued to your original payment method after we receive and inspect the return. Once processed, your bank typically posts the funds within a few business days. If you asked for store credit or an exchange instead, we'll confirm by email when it's applied or shipped.

What if my item arrives defective or missing parts?

Report any missing parts or defects within one week of delivery and we'll fix the problem at our expense — replacement, repair, or refund. If an error was our mistake, we do everything necessary to make it right.

Payment & Security

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit and debit cards, plus the digital wallet options shown at our secure Shopify checkout. You can also place orders by phone at +1 770 483 1060 if you prefer.

Is my payment information secure?

Yes. DynamicLeather.com runs on Shopify, whose checkout is fully encrypted and PCI-compliant — your card details are processed by the payment gateway and are never stored by us. Our fraud-prevention team also verifies billing details on flagged orders, an extra layer of protection for cardholders.

Do you charge sales tax?

Sales tax, where applicable, is calculated automatically at checkout based on your shipping address and current state law. The exact amount is shown before you confirm payment.

What is your policy on credit card fraud?

We take fraud seriously to protect our customers. If an order's shipping address isn't associated with the credit card account, we pause the order, email you to verify the billing address, and can confirm it directly with your bank to keep things moving. Unverified orders are cancelled after 5 business days, and fraudulent transactions are reported to the proper authorities.

Discounts, Price Match & Promotions

Do you have a lowest price guarantee?

Yes — if you find the same product priced lower on a competitor's website, we'll match it. A few fair-play conditions: the item must be the identical product, new, and accurately advertised on a functioning store (auction listings such as eBay don't qualify), and if the other site charges shipping, we add that to their price before matching. Contact us with the link and we'll take care of it.

Do you offer military, veteran, or first responder discounts?

We're proud to serve those who serve — and military APO/FPO orders are always welcome. Contact customer support at +1 770 483 1060 to ask about current discounts for military members, veterans, and first responders before you order.

How do I find out about sales and promotions?

Subscribe to our email list at the bottom of any page on DynamicLeather.com. Subscribers are the first to hear about new collections, seasonal sales, and exclusive offers. You can also follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and X for announcements.

Can I buy a gift card?

Contact us at info@dynamicleather.com or +1 770 483 1060 and we'll help you arrange a gift purchase. And if you're gifting apparel directly, remember our 30-day exchange policy — if the size isn't right, your recipient can swap it hassle-free.

What's a good gift for a motorcycle rider?

If you know their size, a leather motorcycle vest is the classic choice — side lace styles are the most forgiving fit for gifts. If you don't know their size, go with leather bags, wallets, keychains, vest extenders, or rain gear, which fit everyone. Our women's vest-and-bag matching sets are also popular ready-made gifts.

Product Availability, Custom Orders & Wholesale

Do you restock sold-out items?

Often, yes. Popular motorcycle vests and jackets are restocked regularly, though some colorways and closeout styles retire for good. If an item you want shows as sold out, contact us with the product name or SKU and we'll tell you whether and roughly when it's coming back — or point you to the closest in-stock alternative.

Do you offer custom leather vests?

Yes — custom leather vests are one of our specialties. Contact us at info@dynamicleather.com with what you have in mind (style, leather, sizing, features like gun pockets or a single panel back) and we'll walk you through options, timing, and pricing. Custom-made items are built to your specs, so review details carefully before confirming.

Do you offer wholesale pricing?

If you run a shop, dealership, or event business and want to stock our leather motorcycle apparel, contact us at info@dynamicleather.com or +1 404 729 3965 with your business details and the product categories you're interested in. Our team will follow up with wholesale options.

Safety

Does leather actually protect you in a motorcycle crash?

Yes — leather remains the benchmark for abrasion resistance in a slide, which is why racers still wear it. Quality cowhide or buffalo leather resists tearing and shredding far longer than ordinary clothing, protecting your skin from road rash. No garment prevents every injury, but riding-weight leather dramatically improves your odds versus denim or bare skin.

Is a leather vest enough protection on its own?

A vest protects your torso from wind, debris, and abrasion, but full protection means covering more of you: a DOT-approved helmet, a riding jacket, gloves, over-ankle boots, and leg protection like chaps or riding pants. Think of the vest as one layer of a complete riding kit — many riders wear theirs over an armored jacket.

Are your helmets DOT approved?

We sell both DOT-approved helmets and novelty helmets, clearly labeled in separate collections. DOT-approved helmets meet federal safety standards for road use. Novelty helmets are for looks only — they are not safety equipment and don't meet DOT standards — so choose a DOT-approved (or modular DOT) helmet for actual riding protection.

Care & Maintenance

How do I clean my leather vest or jacket?

Wipe it down with a soft, slightly damp cloth to remove dust and road grime, using a small amount of mild leather cleaner for spots. Always test any product on a hidden area first to make sure it won't discolor the hide, and let leather air-dry naturally away from heat. For heavy soiling, a professional leather cleaner is the safe route.

Can I wash leather in a washing machine?

No — never machine-wash or soak genuine leather. Water saturation and detergent strip the hide's natural oils, causing stiffness, shrinkage, and cracking. Stick to damp-cloth cleaning and leather-specific products, and your gear will outlast anything that's been through a wash cycle.

Can leather get wet? What if I'm caught in the rain?

Leather can handle getting rained on — it happens to every rider. When you get home, blot off the water, let the garment air-dry at room temperature (never near a heater or in direct sun), and apply leather conditioner once it's dry to restore the oils. For long rides in wet forecasts, pack one of our motorcycle rain suits to wear over your leathers.

How often should I condition leather motorcycle gear?

Every 2–3 months with regular riding, or monthly if you ride daily in sun and weather. Apply a light, even coat of quality leather conditioner and buff off the excess — light and often beats heavy and rare, since over-conditioning can clog the hide's pores.

How should I store leather apparel in the off-season?

Clean and condition it first, then hang it on a wide, sturdy hanger in a cool, dry closet — inside a breathable garment bag if you like, but never sealed plastic, which traps moisture. Keep leather away from direct sunlight, heaters, and damp basements, and it'll come out of storage ready to ride.

How long does leather motorcycle apparel last?

Decades, with basic care. A quality genuine leather vest or jacket that's cleaned occasionally, conditioned a few times a year, and stored properly routinely lasts 20+ years — and looks better with age as it develops a patina. It's one of the few pieces of gear that genuinely improves the longer you own it.

Account, Privacy & Support

Do I need an account to place an order?

No — you can check out as a guest. Creating a free account just makes life easier: faster checkout, saved addresses, and one-click access to your order history. You can create an account or log in from the top of any page.

How is my personal information protected?

We collect only the information needed to process and ship your order, protected by encrypted Shopify checkout. We don't sell your personal information. Full details are in the Privacy Policy linked in our site footer.
